Today, I am a Chandelier
Mrs Giuseppina Maggi, an artist who specialises in working with recyclable materials, came to spend the day with a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils as part of Global Citizens’ Day. Pupils were aware that looking after the planet by reusing and recycling resources is an important part of being a good global citizen.
The pupils learnt cutting and joining techniques using unwanted plastic drink bottles to make components of a large scale art installation. Some of the pieces were complicated and required persistence and accuracy when preparing. The completed art piece is on display in the school library. Mrs Maggi and the pupils had a great, productive day together.
