BAHMUN Conference
On 12 and 13 April, a delegation of 35 Year 10 to Year 13 students participated in the 18th Bahrain Model United Nations Conference, organised by the Rotary Club of Adliya. Over 20 other schools and at least 4 different educational systems were represented. The students came from countries including Egypt, the Netherlands, India, South Africa, the US.
Being a Model United Nations participant is something special, something unique. Our delegation firmly portrayed that mind-set in each of their allocated Councils. Our team managed to pick-up 7 out of the available 10 awards which, at a National Model UN Conference, is an incredible tally and is evidence of the hard work put in by our students. The 4 Councils at the conference were: the UN General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the UN Security Council, each mirroring their real life counterpart in topic discussions. Our delegation was supported and directed by Ms Woolf in preparation for the conference.
