Basketball – Intermediate Boys
Led by our talented Captain, Jean Boujakli, the season began with a resounding victory over the British School. We also played very well against a strong Riffa Views team. We were leading 25-23 with 10 seconds to go, unfortunately, a 3 pointer on the buzzer gave Riffa the victory!! Due to a few postponements, we ended up with a very busy final week of the season. We lost to the very talented Modern Knowledge School, but bounced back to beat IKNS and Bayan School. The final Tournament was hard work as we had to play without talented tall boys, Yaseen Le Falher and Yusif Abu Hamed as well as three point specialist Lorenzo Fantechi. Still we rallied well and a lot of the Year 9 boys raised their game. In the end, we came third in the tournament. The attitude of all the players was fantastic and numbers turning up to training stayed high all year. Jean Boujakli was named Player of the Season and Yaseen Le Falher was named Most Improved Player. Well done, boys, it was a pleasure to coach you.
