Manchester United Soccer School
On Friday 25 April, twelve girls from both the Junior and Intermediate St Christopher’s Football teams took part in a Football Tournament hosted by Viva and Manchester United Soccer Schools. During the Tournament, the girls competed against five other schools, winning all games in their pool without conceding any goals. This spectacular play took them through to the Semi-Final which they won 3-0 and then to the Final, which they also won, making them the Tournament’s overall winners. The team played superbly, with goals scored by Ella Huckvale, Lauren Moir, Razan Almusawi, Gabriela Deakin and Rayah Al Khalifa and some more fantastic football skills demonstrated by Aofie Rudman, Chloe O’Shaughnessey, Zoe Litherland, Maud Tinsley, Lamis McDowell-Rose, Sajida Mercer and Aarti Rangaranjan. Ella and Lauren were also selected to take part in the Manchester United Soccer Schools training programme at the Carrington Training ground in Manchester in June 2014. Congratulations to them and to all the girls involved.
