SPARTA Festive Camp
A SPARTA Camp for ages 5 – 12 years was hosted on the 16-18 December at St Christopher`s School, Saar.
There was lots of fun and sports on offer and children were able to develop their skills in tennis, swimming, athletics, football, basketball and many other sports. The relaxed atmosphere and the fantastic facilities made it a very special festive camp and was a great start to the holiday. Look out for the next SPARTA camp in February.
SPARTA Under 14’s Tennis Tournament
On Saturday 6 December, tennis coaches, Simon Bourner and Adam Bussens organised the SPARTA Open Under 14’s Tennis Tournament. Ten players entered the highly competitive tournament, which featured a round robin format where the top two in each group faced off in a semi-final and then a final to finish. Finalists were Harry Cooke taking fourth position, Aman Lalwani taking the bronze medal, Akshat Gupta taking the silver and Sai-Rama Balakrishnan winning the gold. Last year’s final also featured Akshat and Sai-Rama, and saw Akshat take home the gold. However, this year. Sai-Rama fought back and celebrated a 4-1 victory. Gareth Holloway, SPARTA director, added “Well done to everyone who took part in the tournament. Watch this space for more exciting tennis events to come in the New Year.”
