Hunt for Numbers
The Infant and Junior schools had a wonderful time during Maths Week (January 25 – 29).
The mornings began with maths games across both schools which allowed the children to practise their mathematical understanding in a fun but competitive atmosphere.
The Treasure Hunt also proved to be extremely popular. The children had to find 10 digits hidden around the school to complete the calculations on the question sheet. They then had to answer the sums for which they earned house points. Many children wanted to do the hunt more than once so Mr Dawson and Mr Roycroft had to produce an extra question sheet! Many thanks to our fantastic Year 6 House Captains who were very busy marking the 700 answer sheets that had been submitted!
The week ended with a very exciting cross-phase activity with classes in the Junior School visiting their buddy class in the Infant School for more fun maths activities. These sessions are always incredibly popular and demonstrate how well St Christopher’s children are able to collaborate with one another.
Many thanks to everyone for supporting Maths Week – the Maths team are now busy planning Maths Week 2016!
