Running for Building
On Sunday 1 November, Mr Bazzouz ran the New York City Marathon, in 4h 53min. The race takes runners through the five boroughs of New York on a beautiful scenic route: across the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, through Brooklyn and Queens, into Manhattan’s 1st Avenue where runners are greeted by cheering masses and to a finish in beautiful Central Park. It is the 2 million New Yorkers who come to cheer runners on, and all the bands playing music along the way, that make running the NYC marathon an unforgettable experience. Mr Bazzouz ran the marathon to raise money for the School’s initiative to help build a Community School in Gurase, Nepal. Approximately BD1000 was raised for this initiative. Mr Bazzouz wishes to thank colleagues, friends as well as Etihad for sponsoring him.
