Opening Communication Channels
We recently held our annual Year 8 Coffee Afternoon and what a wonderful afternoon it was! This event gave parents a chance to meet informally with form tutors and key pastoral staff, as well as meet other parents and their children’s friends. Mrs Beck, Head of Year 8, gave a short presentation outlining important events and dates coming up and students were able to take their parents on a guided tour of the Senior School. Thank you to the many parents who attended; it was great to see so many people joining us in the school hall. An extra big thank you must go to the fifteen volunteer Year 8 students who baked delicious cakes and biscuits for everyone to enjoy during the afternoon – there is something very special about sharing a conversation with new friends over coffee and cake! If you were unable to attend the afternoon, the PowerPoint presentation that was shown during the afternoon outlining the key events in Year 8, as well as a series of photographs that depict what the Year 8s have been getting up to in lessons and around school over the start of the year is available on parent portal. A big thank you to everyone involved for making the afternoon so successful!
