A Winter Market in the Sun
On Friday 2 December, the car park at the Saar Campus was transformed into Bahrain’s own Portobello Road Market, except for the added bonus that it was bathed in glorious winter sunshine. There were about 25 vendors in all, making it possible to snap up a real bargain in advance of the Festive Season. The students of Year 10 ably ran a refreshment stall for members of the public and participants in the Charity Football Tournament, as well as providing the vendors with regular tea and coffee. The proceeds of the event will go to Year 10’s continuing support of the African Orphanage Charity. In the past, Year 10’s fundraising has enabled the orphanage to build a toilet and shower block.
