A Yummy Food Revolution!
The Infant and Junior School celebrated their Jamie Oliver inspired ‘Around the World’ themed Food Revolution Day on April 2. There was a fantastic range of food based activities and cooking demonstrations. Pupils baked dishes from scratch at home, representing their own country, to sell to help raise money for the school Cleaners’ Day Out. It was great to see some many pupils enthused about cooking.
We also had some fantastic live cooking demonstrations from the Ritz Carlton, Villa Mamma’s, NKD Pizza and Jawad. AlOsra encouraged children to sample different varieties of fruit and vegetables. Children really enjoyed planting a seed to grow at home, kindly provided by Jassim on Budaiya Highway. Some of the children also visited the Food Truck.
Many of the children and staff took advantage of purchasing from a fantastic range of fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants from the Bahrain Farmers Market as well as enjoying some typical Arabic food and drinks. Also many thanks to our parent helpers on the day.
