Racing Fever
During the week beginning Sunday 26 March, all Year 2 children visited the Bahrain International Circuit, the home of Formula 1 in the Middle East. They say that there is only so much you can plan for and it is certainly true that no-one anticipated the events of Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 when surprise Bahraini police drills took place. The children tell us that it was exciting to see the police arrive and take up positions at different parts of the track. Whilst there the children looked out over the track from the Sakhir Tower, had the opportunity to manoeuvre cameras from the control room, and listen to the roar of an F1 engine, at the garages. All are agreed that it was a fabulous trip that deepened our understanding of Formula One and furthermore, it gave an insight into the hard work and logistics that goes into staging such a spectacle.
