A Musical Season
Each year, St Chris host the Young Musicians of the Gulf competition. This year, the competition takes place at the end of January and many high achieving musical students will be travelling to Bahrain from all over the Gulf to try to win category prizes as well as the coveted ‘Young Musician of the Gulf’ award. On Monday 20 November, the advanced musical students from St Chris had the opportunity to perform one of their three pieces in preparation for the solo category of the Competition. The variety of music was impressive and already many of the performances were reaching levels that would be suitable for the competition. At the end of the evening the Music Staff offered an adjudication of their performance to enhance further practice. All of the performers enjoyed the opportunity to play to a supportive audience and it was definitely a worthwhile new venture for the students to perform before the Winter break. Our next Musical Interlude, in preparation for Young Musicians of the Gulf, will be on 23 January 2018 in the Senior School Hall.
