Well Done Teams

The Primary Sports League Athletics event is usually a cold and blustery affair. This was not to be the case this year as the competitors lucked out with perfect sunny conditions! Including St Chris, six schools competed in both track and field events, the latter trialed Google technology for the first time to record and share results. A really pleasant and supportive atmosphere lent itself to some great performances from each athlete as they gave their all to score points for their team. Several records, rather than merely being broken, were smashed by St Chris athletes; Leanne Cockerill in the 100m, Ella Watson in the Girls High Jump and the Girls 4x75m Relay team of Isabel Looby, Wilma Tautenhahn, Zoe Markley and Leanne Cockerill. Inspired by these achievements, the St Chris team pushed on to secure a deserved first place overall finish. Congratulations to all of the athletes for their efforts and huge thanks must go to all the staff volunteers who gave up their time to officiate.
