How Good is your General Knowledge?
St Christopher’s Senior School’s very own General Knowledge extravaganza came to a close last week, after three months of exciting quiz action. More than 340 students and 40 teachers took part in the qualifying round in a packed Sports Hall back in December. From there, teams were whittled down to the head-to-head stages with plenty of testing rounds to compete against as well as formidable opponents. In the student final, it was the Year 12 ‘The Blue Team’ comprising Hamed Al Khalifa, Mazen Agha, Mohammed Salman and Meshari Al Ghamdi who triumphed by 31 points to 27 over the top seeds ‘The Spanish Inquizition’: Yousif Abuhamad, Faye Weaver, Ricardo Del Rio Fuente and Matthew Holman. In the staff final, the number 3 seeds ‘Rainmen’ (Mr Smith, Mr Booth, Mrs Drummond and Mr Wales) were surprise winners against the top seeds ‘Covfefe and TV’ (Mr Pollard, Mr Stewart, Mr Peswani and Mr Mulleague). Hopefully, there will be a farewell to the competition later this term when the winning student team take on the winning teacher team.
