St Christopher’s Senior School celebrated World Heart Day on Sunday 29 September. The aim of this day is to promote a healthy lifestyle. This year’s message was to be a “Heart Hero” by promising to look after yourself through taking up more exercise, eat healthily and not smoking!
As always, the PE department was keen to help promote this message amongst the students and staff. We were thrilled to have Niki Osborne and her team from @Bahrainbootcamps join us again this year. We had Anna leading the Zumba party, where both students and staff danced their way to getting fitter; Matt putting the students through their paces in a fitness circuit and games, and Artrail coaching groups through a tough boxing workout! And the Tug of War saw the students defeat the staff once again! Congratulations! If that wasn’t enough, Leon from Sparta set up a rugby based agility and strength course and Marco, from Sparta, had many students trying their best at various football challenges. A big thanks also goes to the team from Al Kindi Specialised Hospital, who offered health checks to both staff and students.
Thank you to everyone who took part and to the student helpers and staff and coaches.
The PE Department hopes that the day has encouraged students and staff to be more active and to think about and follow a healthier lifestyle.
