Leading the Way

“On 23 February, fifty three students from Years 10 – 13, attended the annual Young Leadership Conference, hosted by the Al Hekma International School,  joined by another twelve schools on the island. Six St Chris students were selected as Chairs for the separate Councils, and I stepped in at the last minute as Master of Ceremonies for the opening and closing of the event. It was a day full of fun and the St Chris students received sixteen out of the twenty awards.

The issues debated ranged from ‘Equal rights for Migrant Workers in the Middle East’ to ‘Combatting the International Trafficking of Drugs’ – all very relevant and contemporary and they helped us to see problems through another country’s eyes.

Our MUN director, Ms Woolf, with the help of Nabeel supported us in our preparations for the Conference and helped us be as efficient and as practiced in speaking as possible, for the  Model United Nations Conference”. – John Sanderson, Year 12
