St Chris Girls Dominate

Smiles all round from an enjoyable evening and truly excellent results. Namita gave an inspirational team talk, imparting wisdom gained from past experience, before comprehensively beating all competitors to secure 1st place in the Senior division. Aarti and Trisha also dominated in the Junior and Intermediate Girls individual events respectively to win Gold for St Chris, with Stuti gaining Silver in the Juniors. Nada, dodging impalement in the Junior Doubles as her opponent’s racquet accidentally flew over the net, progressed to a Final win with the help of Danielle.

Nicole and Catherine showed unrivalled sportsmanship and patience on their way to winning the Intermediate Doubles event, giving second chances and explaining the rules on several occasions to less experienced opponents. Farah and Sheikha laughed the most during the competition and still managed a respectable 2nd place in the Senior Doubles.

St Chris Boys Silver and Gold

Congratulations to Amartya Sarkar for winning the Junior Boys Singles event and taking home Gold.  He fought very hard and won the final 9-7.  Arnav Mathur and Lucas Rothwell paired up for the Junior Boys Doubles event.  After several matches, they just missed out, losing the final 7-9.  Well done for taking Silver!  In the Intermediate age group, Sheran Mendis just missed out by 1 point in order to qualify for the Final.  Good effort!  Saeed Hussain and Danyal Qureshi competed in the Senior Boys Doubles event.  Though they played well, they lost their games 9-7 and 9-7.  Everyone who competed and took part in this Tournament had a great time.
