Tache Time

Once again, Movember, the month previously known as November, quickly came around and arose the hairy passions of all males keen on raising the profile of Mens’ Health, which we all know is often a taboo topic.

Movember is a worldwide charity set up by two Ozzie blokes from Adelaide in 1999 to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer and associated charities. It is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November and has even spread into Decembeard!!

Many of the male staff and 6th Form boys grew manly moustaches throughout the month with some certainly looking more bushy than others. We were also joined by that well known journalist and parent-governor, Stan the Man from GW who looked rather dashing in his 80s tache!

The ladies also joined in by buying ‘felt’ moustaches and altogether the princely sum of BD260 was raised, which will be donated to the Bahrain Cancer Society for the benefit of local cancer sufferers
