Deck the Halls

The festive season started on 30 November, with our Festive Fayre at Saar. We were delighted that so many parents, children and members of the community joined us to enjoy the many games, activities and stalls organised by the Friends of St Chris. Santa Claus visited the school too, arriving in a London taxi, and met children of all ages in his festive grotto.

Pupils from across the school played festive music to a receptive audience of young and old. Guests of the Fayre were treated to a full musical array performed by the Junior Orchestra, Junior and Senior Brass, Junior and Senior Strings, Junior and Senior Woodwind, Senior Saxophones and the Senior Big Band. Over 60 students in the Junior Choir and 30 students in the Infant Choir brought festive cheer, with their renditions of Jingle Bells and Silent Night.

Meanwhile, the FOSC Café was in full swing, serving mince pies and holiday patisserie to a happy customers bedecked in festive colours and sparkle.

Commenting on the success of the event, Tim Mannings said “A huge thank you to the amazing FOSC team, all the parents, pupils and staff who helped make the day such a resounding success, with over BD 10,000 raised on the day towards FOSC funds.”

Thank you too to our many sponsors, especially Gulf Air, Euro Motors, Chevron, Citibank, Blakes, Sofitel, The Gulf Hotel, Hotel Mercure, Mövenpick, The Diplomat Radisson Blu, Writer Relocations, Ebrahim K Kanoo, Haribo, the Royal Golf Club and Al Zain for their kind donations of raffle prizes, and to the local companies and individuals who supported this event.
