The Golf Academy has now completed its first set of intensive Golf  lessons for St Christopher’s students, with a mixture of young and new keen golfers attending.  The students have been practising various skills such as chipping, pitching and putting on the short game area as well as the ‘Wee Monty’.  The Academy is open to any student at St Chris and if anybody else would like to sign up for the second session starting in January then they should speak to Mr Hobday asap.

Finally, I trust that you all had a very merry and happy golfing time wherever you may have been during the holidays.~ Barry Hobday (Golf Co-ordinator)

Girls Overview

Junior Girls

This year, all the students who were awarded a place on the team were in tough competition with the large numbers that turned out for the trials and continued to maintain an enthusiastic approach during training. Miss Sheppard and Mrs Vaughan would like to congratulate all students for their commitment and effort to train if not selected. The season proved challenging and we played exceptionally well. We finished the season just off the top position in both the League and Tournament. Well done to all those who played.

Player of the Season- Danielle Wilkinson

Most Improved- Tasmin Doubell

Intermediate Girls

The Intermediate Girls Volleyball team started off the season as a group with a lot of room for improvement. However, through brilliant coaching from Melissa and Mr Williams, we managed to become closer as a team and learn what we needed to go undefeated all season and earn 1st place in the League as well as winning the Tournament! I can say that, individually, each and every team member has improved since the beginning of the season, as well as forging friendships with the other team mates. We have all worked very hard and I am very proud of the team, as I am sure our coaches and school are too.

Also, thanks to our amazing coaches for the support and management. There is no way we could have done it without you! ~ Cayla Harris

Senior Girls

This past Volleyball season has been fantastic for the Senior Girls. Break time and after school practices were hard work and we all pushed ourselves to perform at the highest level that we could; nonetheless, the practices and the games were thoroughly enjoyable. As captain, I could not have asked for a better team to be a part of and each and every team member should be immensely proud of our achievements as Runner-Up in both the BPSSL League and the BPSSL Tournament.  A special thank you to Mrs Hobday for putting up with our antics, and congratulations to :

Boys Overview

Junior Boys – League Champions and Tournament Runner’s Up

Under the captaincy of Ethan Murray, it was another successful Junior Boys Volleyball season with the Team winning all their League matches in convincing style and coming Runners-Up in the Tournament. There were many talented Year 7 boys in the Squad with notable performances from George Axtell and Callum Matthews throughout the season.

Intermediate Boys

Another year and another unbeaten Boys’ Intermediate Volleyball Team! The squad, captained by Robbie Koeck, went from strength to strength over the season resulting in the team  winning the BPSSL League and Tournament. The boys’ dedication to practices was second to none, which again was reflected in not conceding one set over the whole season.  The season ended with a nail biting final against IKNS in the Tournament held at Riffa Views School.  The team pulled all their well-practiced skills together and, pushing their nerves aside, they delivered some tremendous serves and spikes leading them to victory.  A season to be proud of. Well done, boys!

Senior Boys

The Senior Boys Volleyball season began very well with a strong group of players and a straightforward win over The British School. Unfortunately, nervous losses to The Bahrain School and Bayan School knocked our confidence. However, we rallied well to win the remaining League matches. In the Tournament, once again we lost to the strongest team in the League, Bahrain School. However, we won the remainder of our matches to finish in a creditable third place.
