St Christopher’s Golf Team

The St Christopher’s Golf Team has been very busy over the past ten weeks. The 9 hole Match Play Knockout has just been completed with some closely fought matches and very interesting results.

League 1 ended with Zade Al Borshaid finishing in first place having won 3 out of 4 of his matches this year with Yaseen Le Falher comimg 2nd. In League 2, Nayel Al Borshaid also topped his group with 3 out of 4 wins and Ethan Murray finished 2nd.

Moving on to the Finals stages, there were some very exciting games to decide the final standings. In the main final, Nayel managed to beat his older brother Zade 4&3 to win the knockout shield for the second year in a row.

golf student vs staff

The Golf Academy has now completed its first set of intensive Golf lessons for St Christopher’s students, with a mixture of young and new keen Golfers attending.

The students have been practising various skills such as chipping, pitching and putting on the short game area as well as the ‘Wee Monty’.  The Academy is open to any student at St Chris and if anybody else would like to sign up for the next year then they should speak to Mr Hobday in September.

In the Staff v Students Golf Match, it was pleasing to see the staff win for only the second time in thirteen years, narrowly beating the students by 3.5 to 2.5 in a close and well fought contest.

The staff tournament was very competitive with Mr Williams comfortably beating Mr Craig and Mr Ali to the coveted trophy. A massive 46 points will certainly see a huge reduction of handicap next year for Mr Williams.

STAFF VS STUDENTS

Finally, I trust that you all have a very successful and happy golfing time wherever you may travel to during the holidays.
