Aquathlon in the Bay

St Christopher’s School was invited to attend the Bahrain Mini Olympics Aquathlon on Thursday 28 April. Six students; Laura Adamson, Arabella Rushton, Amalie Neilson, Brandon Marshall, Colby Altman and George Axtell represented the school in the event which consisted of a 300m swim and 800m run. The race took place in near perfect conditions in the fabulous surroundings of the Ritz Carlton Hotel complex, with the first leg being the open water swim. The competitors started on the beach and swam around a buoy positioned in the bay. The students were supported by SPARTA coaches with some parents making the journey to cheer them on. With the transition area carefully negotiated, all our students were in leading positions heading into the running leg.
