Adventure on the Horizon

51 Year 8 students and 5 staff spent four wonderful days in Ras Al Khaimah from 16 to 19 February. The Al Jeer Marina camp proved to be a fantastic centre where all involved enjoyed the opportunity of experiencing the outdoors, battling the elements and taking part in a wide range of challenging but fun activities, many of which they would not normally have had the opportunity to do. During their stay, students managed to participate in a variety of team-building adventures, competitive group tasks and spine-tingling adrenalin-inducing challenges. Groups enjoyed activities which included rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, abseiling, raft building, the ‘Leap of Faith’, Jacob’s ladder, sensory trails, archery and campfire and shelter building. The camp proved to be very entertaining for both students and staff, with the super enthusiastic instructors making everyone’s time there such great fun. The students also bonded strongly with their friends and made new friends within the Year group, which was wonderful to see. Congratulations must go to all the students for their efforts and excellent behaviour during the camp and I am sure that they will hold on to the memories they have made throughout their time at St Christopher’s and beyond.
