 St Christopher’s students’ international success

One of the largest school delegations from anywhere across the world travelled to Hanoi, Vietnam, to compete in the 10th annual Global Competition of the World Scholar’s Cup. The competition theme for 2017 was ‘An Unlikely World’ with students learning Science, Literature, Music and History amongst many other related topics. The competition itself was in four parts with St Christopher’s School students performing particularly well in the writing and debating events. Competition was very strong from over 3500 other students from 50 different countries, yet the students brought back many medals and trophies. Sixteen of the St Christopher’s School teams managed to qualify for the final round of the competition, which will be held at Yale University in November. St Christopher’s School students, Layal Kazerooni and Khaled Husain, also had the honour of carrying the flag of Bahrain into the closing ceremony. Whilst visiting Vietnam, the students also had the opportunity to visit the stunning Halong Bay, Nimh Binh (the location of the most recent King Kong film) and the major sites of Hanoi itself.
