Wear Pink for a Cause
Think Pink this year was certainly a day to remember. Pupils and staff donned pink ribbons and, more impressively, pink clothing to raise awareness of Breast Cancer. The day was filled with laughter and learning on both sites and raised a grand total of BD 3550 for this worthwhile charity. Pupils at Isa Town spent the afternoon participating in a number of activities, pink nail painting, hair braiding, creating their own bouquets using tissue paper, hanging a symbolic ribbon from a tree and eating a range of exquisite baked goods provided by our very own master chefs.
In Saar a very successful “Design your own t-shirt” competition was held. Mrs Julie Sprakel, the founder of Think Pink Bahrain, had a very difficult time selecting the overall winners, however, she was able to narrow it down, and we are proud of the following pupils who received book tokens as prizes:-
Nursery / Reception 1st Sayph AlMubarak – NE 2nd Olivia Caricato – RC 3rd Hannah Royle – RD Years 1 / 2 / 3 1st Sophia Garbutt – 2E 2nd Sophia Squire – 3C 3rd Harrison Gray -1C Years 4 / 5 / 6 1st Landon Keeping -4E 2nd Fraya Nicklin – 6F 3rd Layla Jivanjee – 5C With a special mention to Elliott Harrison-Mirfield -4E
All of the children entering paraded across the stage and and got extra time in the specially themed sports car.
The event that stole the day at Isa Town was most definitely the teacher gunging. Over the course of the week, students voted for the teachers they would like to see covered in pink slime. The lucky winners were: Mr Duff, Mr Doherty, Ms Looker and Mr Booth. Overall, it was a really wonderful day and the money raised made it even more memorable. Thanks to both students and staff for your generous contributions. See you next year!
