It’s All Very Close…

With only one day of competition to go, the overall winners of this year’s Inter House Sports Week could come from any of the four houses. Falcon, Kestrel, Merlin and Osprey have been battling it out for supremacy over the past week. Years 7- 10 have participated in Street Netball, Mixed Volleyball, Basketball, Water Polo and Badminton during their extended lunch breaks. Over fifty students were involved each day with increasing numbers of spectators coming to watch each lunchtime with Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals awarded to the winners of the events. The students have had a busy time of it as many have also been rehearsing for the Senior School’s production of ‘Alice’ and rehearsing for Prize Days but their commitment, enthusiasm and efforts have been evident on their respective fields of play. The Junior Merlin teams were victorious in Basketball whilst Kestrel’s Intermediate players held the upper hand in the same sport. Osprey and Falcon were dominant in both Junior and Intermediate Street Netball and Osprey ruled Badminton. However, the final results will only be announced in Mr Wilson’s end of year Assembly on Thursday 5 July. The PE Staff and Heads of House would like to thank the Year 10 Student Sports leaders for their valuable assistance and congratulate all participants for a tremendous week of sport.
