On Monday 8 April, the Senior School Music Department hosted the annual Spring Concert. The concert showcased the talents and hard work of all of the Senior School Music Ensembles, and featured a new theme for this year: Film Music!
There were performances from the Orchestra, Big Band, Senior Guitar Ensemble, Senior Guitar Orchestra, Senior Choir, Vocal Quartet, Male Barbershop Group, Jawhara, Woodwind Ensemble, String Orchestra, St Chris Trumpets, Senior Brass Group and Ray Parker Band as well as a performance of “Everybody Needs Somebody” (from the movie “The Blues Brothers”) featuring all performers in the finale! Each group provided it’s own exciting repertoire to match our “Night At The Movies” theme with pieces from films such as Transformers, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, James Bond and Rocky.
The evening of music was a great success and even featured students wearing outfits inspired by the different films. The Music Team were pleased to receive lots of positive praise from members of the audience who commented on the fantastic repertoire, new staging set up and high level of performance.
The question is… What will next year’s theme be…?
